VISAR's Winter Wonderland
VISAR's Winter Wonderland (WWL) was a project that I conceived while working full time with VISAR to create an annual revenue stream while also directly connecting to the community to raise awareness of their mission of "Saving Lives at Sea". The synthetic ice rink which is open from US Thanksgiving till New Years Eve celebrated its 5th Anniversary in 2024 and cemented itself as a holiday tradition in the BVI.

In 2020 while putting the WWL together, I worked directly with the Minister of Education, Hon. Natalio Wheatley to put together our volunteer program for high school students (over 13 yr old) to receive their community service hours towards graduation. I felt very strongly that an important element of the rink was to create a space that would allow the students gaining volunteer hours could also at the same time receive an introduction to the work place. Our volunteers have to apply, attend an interview, then once accepted into the program they must sign up for their shifts, attend training, and adhere to the volunteer code of conduct which includes arriving to their shift on time, texting when they will be late and coming prepared to volunteer.

I'm very proud that as we celebrated the rinks 5th anniversary, we also celebrated 10 out of our 13 event staff were all once volunteers!

Governors Gourmet Gathering
This yearly fundraiser takes place at the home of the Governor of the BVI with 15-20 local restaurants donating their time, and amazing food/drinks for the parties guests. The ticketed event welcomes 100 guests to enjoy food, drinks along with a raffle and silent auction.

PDC was tasked with organizing the restaurants, alcohol distributors, and farms along with marketing the event and sources raffle prizes and silent auction items. On the night of the event I was hands on making sure the placement of each restaurant was positioned correctly depending on their cooking needs, the guests were checked in and the raffle/auction tables were busy!

In order to keep the event fresh, I always tried to add a new theme or element such as the "Best in Show Competition" allowing the guests to rate each restaurants dish that featured locally grown basil and arugula. Income from the event while managed by PDC increased 150% from previous years.
